A month ago, 25 stability researchers across the United States gathered for iRise 2.0, a research summit dedicated to driving industry-informed structural stability research. Expert practitioners shared stability needs from their areas of practice and researchers responded by formalizing white papers to articulate the research and broaden the impact of the work. The event occurred over two days and was hosted by the Structural Stability Research Council and the American Institute for Steel Construction. In total, three research needs statements were prepared and submitted to the American Institute for Steel Construction for evaluation for funding. The workshop involved presentation of stability research needs, directed brainstorming sessions, and proposal writing.
