2026 Beedle Award
The Beedle Award is SSRC's premier award and recognizes long-time members of the SSRC who have carried out world-class research or structural design in the field of structural stability, been a leader in fostering cooperation between professionals worldwide, and made significant contributions to code development. It was established in honor of the late Lynn S. Beedle, who was an international authority on stability and the development of code criteria for steel and composite structures.
Dr. Schafer will receive his award on April 21, 2026, at the upcoming 2026 SSRC Annual Stability Conference, which will be held in conjunction with NASCC: The Steel Conference in Atlanta, Ga. He will also give a presentation during SSRC's conference. We all look forward to celebrating Ben's work by enjoying what will certainly be a superb lecture.
