SSRC Welcomes Kara Peterman as Incoming 2026 Chair

SSRC is pleased to announce Associate Professor Kara Peterman from the University of Massachusetts Amherst as the new Chair. She brings extensive expertise in the study of experimental and analytical behavior of cold-formed and hot-rolled steel structures, and will reinforce SSRC's dedication to global leadership in stability research.

SSRC extends its heartfelt thanks and congratulations to the outgoing Chair, Craig Quadrato. Dr. Quadrato served during the 2024-2025 term, overseeing a significant period of growth for SSRC and initiating the development of the next edition of the council's flagship publication, the Guide to Stability Design Criteria for Metal Structures.
